1st time visitor needs casino advice

I realize the casino%26#39;s are across the river.Im a first time visitor coming to the area.I would like to know which of the casinos%26#39;s would be best for me to visit.Im interested in the one that may have live music, great bar/lounge.good lodging. Also,it appears the 3 casino%26#39;s Im aware of are within a couple miles of each other,is that true? What type of transportation is available to be transported to each of the casino%26#39;s,or can you walk to each of them? Thanks for your help

All of the casinos typically have some form of musical entertainment. I would check with the web sites to see what would be playing while you are in town. Harrah%26#39;s has the popular concert area called Stir Concert Cove. The Horseshoe casino also has bands that play in the bar. Ameristar has a sports bar that offers live music. Ameristar casino has a shuttle that will take you over to the Horseshoe casino and back. Ameristar also has a swimming pool where Harrah%26#39;s doesn%26#39;t. The Horseshoe doesn%26#39;t have their own hotel. I forget the name of the place but it is across a parking lot from the Horseshoe. I would either stay at Ameristar or Harrah%26#39;s. I tend to like Ameristar better than Harrah%26#39;s but would stay at Harrah%26#39;s depending on the band playing there at the time.

The casinos are close but not within walking distance. There is a shuttle that runs between the Horseshoe ( the newest and not a riverboat ) and Harrah%26#39;s.

Harrah%26#39;s is the bottom end casino - lowest limits and a bit sparse. They do have great concerts though as was posted. They have $3 BlackJack and Craps and good Video Poker on the top deck.

Ameristar has a great sports bar - good appetizers, lots of TV%26#39;s and a good bar. The boat is connected to a Hotel with a buffet and an upscale restaurant that is very good ( Waterfront ). I like it a lot. Gambling is good there too with $5 limit tables and 9/6 video poker. Live music in the sports bar - check their website for the bands - pretty good - they stopped having live music in the casino last year.

The Hosershoe is a nice Vegas style one floor casino with a dog track and horse betting. Higher limits here and tighter slots but its a nice place. They have live bands in the Whiskey Roadhouse - see their website for the schedule.

Thanks for both of your replies.
