Lodging and food- near Grand Island

Hello-

We will be traveling from MN to Denver at the end of May. Looks like Grand Island would be about half-way and a place to stay overnight.

Any suggestions for a clean,safe place to stay off of I-80? Any recommendations for a place to eat?

Grandma Max%26#39;s truckstop, near I-80 has an excellent restaurant. There is also an Arby%26#39;s at the exit.

As far as hotels go, choices are limited unless you drive into Grand Island itself, about 6 - 8 miles off the interstate, depending on which exit you take. There is a Holiday Inn (with a restaurant) and a Holiday Inn Express at the interstate, and another budget hotel near the truck stop just north of the interstate. Your choices broaden if you drive into the town itself. Will you have time to go into Grand Island, maybe see some of the sights in town, like Stuhr Museum? or is this just a stop for a meal and a bed? Any stores, such as WalMart, are in town. There is a gas station by the interstate, and then that truckstop i mentioned.
