Good restaurants in Omaha

Hi, looking to give a restaurant gift cert. to a relative living in Omaha that likes to go out to eat. I know there are a lot of great restaurants so looking for locals to give me tips on their favs.

Thanks!

Good restaurants in Omaha

Any chance you can narrow it down a little or provide a general type of restaurant you%26#39;re looking for?

Local place, non-Chain?

Steakhouse?

Italian?

Seafood?

Trendy?

Upscale?

Mexican?

Downtown? Out West?

Good restaurants in Omaha

Lo Sole Meo

Piccolos

Upstream Brewery

Greek Islands

Johnny%26#39;s Italian Steakhouse, a little bit of everything

Lo Sole Mio, excellent italian

Maria%26#39;s (Ralston) Mexican

Bohemian Cafe, heavy - old fashioned comfort food!

thanks for all the responses. My only narrowing down would be local, non-chain as the folks I am trying to find a gift for seem to like almost all types of foods. For cuisine, guess you can%26#39;t go wrong w/Italian, Mexican or steaks. Thanks!

I think all listed so far are no-chain. I immediately thought of Upstream as they have two locations, and we just enjoyed eating at Prestige World Class.

Agree with Upstream. There is now a Lazlo%26#39;s in Omaha that is good casual food and micro brewed beer, they also have a location in Lincoln.

Do they like a bit different food - Prima 140 perhaps? How about Belgian style with Dario%26#39;s Brasserie ?

Sports fans - Brewburgers for unusual burger selections, a lot of different beers and the game on TV.

Pasta in the old market - Vivace.....

Another vote for the Upstream, Lazlo%26#39;s, and Vivace%26#39;s.

I think one of the best places in Omaha to get a great steak is Anthony%26#39;s. There is no way to go wrong there. It is one of Omaha%26#39;s oldest steak houses if not the oldest. They just remodeled and it looks nice inside. I love Blue for Sushi. Lo Sole Mio or Vincenzo%26#39;s for Italian. Zio%26#39;s for the best pizza. Seafood would definately be Charlie%26#39;s on the Lake. Rick%26#39;s Boat Yard has good food but you are more there to be by the river and the new foot bridge. It is a great place to go eat when the weather is beautiful out or you have an event to go to downtown.

Thanks for all you great tips!!! I will check those restaurants online and order a gift certificate. Guess we need to go visit Omaha to eat! Some of the descriptions of these restaurants sound great!!!
