Old Mill area of Omaha

I will be in Omaha with a colleague for a conference at the Crowne Plaze Old Mill Jan. 29-Feb. 1. We are looking for good food and fun shopping close by. We are from a very outdoorsy, rural mountain west area and so are just happy to have choices. Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks@

There are several to choose from with the Westroads Shopping center a short drive with restaurants around it like PF Changs, Chesecake Factory plus a few others.

You could also head just a bit farther west on W.Dodge Rd at the Boys Town exit you will find Biaggi%26#39;s, Charleston%26#39;s, and Ted%26#39;s Nebraska Grille. All three are really nice restaurants IMO. Biaggi%26#39;s is italian. Charleston%26#39;s is rather eclectic as I remember and Ted%26#39;s is all about steak (beef or bison) and hambergers.

The previous poster was right about Westroads, but another ';mall'; option at 168th and W.Dodge is Village Pointe.

Don%26#39;t forget Granite City Brewery at the Westroads complex - good beer brewed on premises, good burgers.

Regency Court is nearby with the famous Borsheim%26#39;s Jewelry store and a few high end shoppes as well as One Pacific Place on Regency Drive and Pacific St. has some nice shops and California Pizza Kitchen and other places to eat.

For some fun maybe consider: Dave and Busters - 2502 South 133rd Plaza, Suite 111 Omaha , NE 68144 402-778-3915

Any suggestions for bars in this area?

Granite city is good for microbrews and food.

For a more traditional bar scene head just west to 114 th street and go north - there are strip malls on both sides of 114th street on the west side of 114th just north of Dodge you have Club Patrick%26#39;s and 2 or 3 other bars, on the west side of the street there is DJ%26#39;s dugout sports bar and I think one more.
