best route through lincoln

hi. quick question.

to go from lincoln to kansas city, would highway 2 be faster than taking highway 80 up to omaha and then down highway 29?

Yes Riawonly you should take HWY 2 out of town and to Ne.City.

There you will get on HWY 29. It is a very easy drive to KC.

Depending where you start in Lincoln it should take you 3 hours.

thanks a lot. i was afraid there would be too many signal lights, stop signs, etc. but i%26#39;ll definately use highway 2 when i pass through in august.

Highway 2 is 4 lane from Lincoln to NE City and is excellent road.

After you leave Lincoln, you won%26#39;t have any stoplights until you hit the junction of Hwy2and 75 , which is a stop light. When you are in NE city you could visit Arbor Lodge. If you are going in Sept. or later, be sure to pick up some locally grown apples. Around Arbor Lodge, you will find hiking trails which are great for stretching the legs.

Hwy 2 to I29 is quicker and easier than going I80. Lived in KC for 12 years, and went back and forth to Lincoln about 6 - 8 times a year. (Both hubby and I raised there, family still there). I could almost drive it with my eyes closed. Do be careful watching the speed limit on Hwy 2. Only times we ever got speeding tickets on those trips were on Hwy 2, even though we went more over speed limit on I29! And they sure don%26#39;t give out any warnings!! Even when I was driving by myself with a screaming 3 month old and screaming 2 year old in the back! lol
