Need a Hotel near or In Chappell

My family will be traveling to Chappell NE late July early August from the Quad Cities to attend a wedding in Chappell Nebraska. I know nothing about th area at all nor do I have a clue where to stay. PLEASE HELP! After the wedding we would like to take our sons to Colorado to see the mountains. How much further would we need to travel and where would you recommend we go. When I try to find hotels in Chappell nothing come up except towns I have never heard of. We would like a room for 5. I have a 21, 19 and 11 year old plus my husband and myself. We would like a free breakfast as well if possible. Thanks to any out there with good advise.

One of the closest towns I found with hotels is Sidney, NE and it is 30 miles straight west. Ogallala is 43miles back east on I-80. When we were in Sidney last year we never stayed there, but most of the hotels looked fairly new and built close to the Cabella%26#39;s store. The only one, from the internet research that I just did, that has free breakfast is the Days Inn. I was surprised because usually the Comfort Inns and Americinns offer free breakfasts. The Americinn does offer it for a surcharge. All of you would enjoy the Cabella%26#39;s store with its wide assortment of hunting, fishing, camping, home accessories, etc. For beautiful mts., go south into CO 214 miles to RMNP. Estes Park, CO is on the eastern side and Grand Lake, CO is on the western side of RMNP. RMNP offers beautiful views, hiking, and wildlife. The name of the rd. through the park is Trail Ridge Rd. If you plan on any hikes, make sure you go early in the morning so you are down below tree line by noon or 1 because afternoon lighting storms are common. You should pack jackets even in July and August you will need them on the upper elevations. These mts. are so beautiful and a trip here with your family will result in some wonderful memories.

If your family likes airplanes you could stop at the air musuem, between Omaha and Lincoln, on the west side of the Platte River. The museum used to be at the air base at Bellevue, Ne. You might be able to rent a cabin at Mahoney State Park which is right next to the musuem. Here you can ride horses, min. golf, swim, hike, and fish. The cabins rent fast so they might be full. This could be on your way to the wedding or your way home.

Enjoy your trip.
