i will be in the s.d. black hills in july and after spending 4 nights in keystone need to decide if i want to go south for 3 days to nebraska panhandle and see scottsbluff and chinmey rock or spend 2 nights in spearfish canyon before heading to the badlands for last 2 days of trip. anyone have any suggestions who is familiar with the areas.
northern black hills or trip to scottsbluff /chimney rock
This would depend on your interest, do you like history? The panhandle area has the beauty of the prairie and the history of the Pony Express Trail, Morman Trail, and Oregon Trail. Chimney Rock was one of the landmarks they used on their westward trek. Spearfish Canyon is beautiful with the forest, stream, and small waterfalls. We hope this helps.
