Niobrara River canoeing and camping

Does anyone have any advice on where to camp for canoeing on the Niobrara east of Valentine? It will be a small family reunion over a weekend in mid-summer. Maybe tents, maybe cabins--but bathrooms and showers are needed for sure. We%26#39;d like a place with some facilities for a BBQ that would allow the consumption of a few beers.

Also, is there a preferred outfitter from which to rent canoes/kayaks/tubes/etc.?

I think I%26#39;ve used Sunny Brook outfitters. They have what you%26#39;re looking for including showers, at least a shower if I remember correctly. Tandem kayaks and singles, tubes, camping, horses. There are also 5 foot square islands in the middle of the river that may host for your comical amusement a single Simmental. How the critters get up on these tiny raised islands I don%26#39;t know.

The outfitter buses up river and one exits at their camp. Run your horses in the river for a midday splash. Sure beats the heck out of picking up a rental at the Port of Orleans in Paris. Port Haut Rhine is another story.

Anywhere but Fritz%26#39;s Island/Stan%26#39;s Landing is good for camping. Have fun:)

I have to say the best place to be able to do all the things you are wanting Rocky Ford Outfitters is the best we go every year and have had nothing but lots of fun the people are great and it is one only a few that you can drink on!!
