Qwest center--hotels near--location of...

I am coming in for a concert at the Qwest Center(?) and am wondering if it is right downtown. We want to be in a hotel right in the center or very near to nightlife. Is The Qwest in the same area? Is there a specific area in downtown that is known more for nightlife or are the bars/clubs spread out? Any hotel recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

patty - the Hilton Garden Inn is directly across from the Quest Center and is lovely. You will be in a great area known as the Old Market (web search it) lots of bars, restaurants, etc. Also the Embassy Suites is very near too.

I%26#39;m a little confused. Looking at maps it seems like the qwest center is a bit away from that historic area, but they are right in the same area ????

The Old Market is about 6 or 7 blocks from the Qwest Center. It%26#39;s a nice walk as long as it isn%26#39;t too cold.

patty - if you stayed at the Embassy Suites, you%26#39;d be right in the Old Market, close to great restaurants, bars, etc and a short walk to the Quest Center for the concert.

How about the Courtyard by Marriott?

The Courtyard is between the Qwest and the Old Market. An easy walk to either.

If you%26#39;re looking for a nice combo of price/quality, bid for 2.5 stars on Priceline for Downtown Omaha ... either the Hilton Garden Inn or Courtyard by Mariott will come up (actually I%26#39;ve NEVER had the Courtyard not come up) for a $40 most every time. Bid a little in advance so you can bid a couple times after a 72 hour waiting period ... with all the fees and taxes it%26#39;s $53 for a night%26#39;s stay. Word of warning though ... this will only get you a king bed and a full pull-out couch. If you want doubles the people at the desk will charge you $10 on their own for the 2 beds.

I always bid this area and get this hotel when I need a place near the Old Market or Qwest. It%26#39;s a short 2 block walk to Qwest and about 3-4 blocks to the Old Market area and a nice walk as long as it isn%26#39;t too cold. The Embassy Suites would be the closest to the Old Market and the Hilton attached to the Qwest would be the closest to Qwest. Hope this helps!

The Hilton is attached to the Qwest center via skywalk and is an excellent hotel - much nicer than the Hilton Garden Inn but also more expensive. The Garden Inn is fine for the price. I don%26#39;t recommend the Courtyard - kind of disappointing to stay in. The old Market is a short walk from both Hilton%26#39;s. The embassy suites is next to the old market and should be fine to stay at.

Heading to Omaha, and have spent time in Old Town area, but never ventured north to Qwest Center ... which I will need to do this time. Can%26#39;t remember what I saw for sidewalks/paths across or under the Interstate Highway between Old Town and Qwest. I remember being in San Antonio, just across the IH from somewhere I wanted to walk, and had to dash across the highway and dodge cars. Too old for that now.

QUESTION: Are there safe sidewalks or paths to walk from Old Town to Qwest Center?

You can walk straight up 10th street to the Quest Center on a sidewalk from the Old Market Area / ConAgra campus with no problems.

There is also one east side of the Quest center that is nearer the river that goes back down to the park / ConAgra campus.

A cab would be quick and cheap as well.
