road trip

We are planning a road trip soon that may take us through here. Can anyone recommend a good place to eat?

When we passed through Kearney in August, we ate at Sydney%26#39;s which features Italian food and steak. It was pleasant with a very nice staff and a lovely salt water fish tank which fascinated our kids.

Some great places to eat in Kearney are:

The Roman-little italian resturant in downtown Kearney along Central Ave. Very romantic. You may want to call for hours if you decide to go there, they are not open all the time.

El Villarta-great authentic tasting Mexican food. Located off of 39th St. and Central Ave.

Hunans-really good Chinese food, nice atmosphere, they have a lunch buffet that is wonderful and in the evening they have more formal dining. I believe it%26#39;s located off of 11th St. and 3rd Ave.

Also, if you will be in Kearney, drive a little further into town if you need gas. Really expensive by interstate.

Stay away from Old Chicago%26#39;s !!!!!!!!!!

We ate there at the end of August 2007 . I left my purse on the seat of our booth when we left at closing time, the next moring when I picked it up all the money was gone. The worst part was the lack of concern by management. I guess they figured that since we were only tourists passing through there ws no need to investigate any further. If it was my staff-----I would want to know who the thief or theives were. Wouldn%26#39;t you.

My suggestion would be to drive right by the town and do not stop.

The Cellar in Kearney is delicous. Great steaks and atmosphere.
