Restaurants and antiques

1. Where are the local spots to eat? That is, not the chain restaurants of ';everytown';?

2.. We would appreciate leads on where to shop for antiques, both in North Platte and in the nearby towns.

Restaurants and antiques

Howdy Woodville,

I am not sure what type of food you are looking for?

If you want Nebraska Beef. (and who wouldn%26#39;t) I like Whiskey Creek. Located right off I-80 and Hwy. 83 interchange past the Applebees and behind Fort Cody Trading Post.

Or downtown by the railroad overpass on Hwy. 83 is the Depot. They have a wide variety with good quality Sandhills beef.

If you are travelling East on I-80 towards North Platte, you could stop at Ole%26#39;s Steak House in Paxton, Ne. (30 miles west of NP)

Or you could stop at Butch%26#39;s Steak House in Hershey, Ne. (12 miles west of NP)

As for antiques:

There is an anitique mall on the South side of the I-80 and Hwy. 83 interchange.

There is Grandmas Memories (806 N. Jeffers) on the North side of town on Hwy. 83 that is I believe 1 block north of the railroad overpass on the west side of the street.

Then there is The Hay Loft. (2006 E. 4th Street) When going North on Hwy. 83, 4th street will be the street on the north side of the courthous. There is a stoplight there.

There are a few more specific ones around, but best to ask the locals when you arrive to where they are and if they are open.

I believe there is one in a small ranching community of Arnold northeast of NP 55 miles.

Happy Trails
