Omaha in June for Baseball tourney

We will be attending a youth baseball tournament in June in Omaha and need to choose lodging for our teams/families. We have to choose from a list of hotels some of which are: Holiday Inn on Miracle Hills Dr., Homewood Suites Omaha, Hol Inn Convention Ctr, Courtyard Marriott La Vista, Hilton Garden Inn Omaha West, etc. Any suggestions good or bad? Thx.

All the ones you listed are close to the interstate and there aren%26#39;t many restaurants within walking distance to any.

The Holiday Inn convention center also has Coco Key indoor waterpark which could be a plus.

The Hilton Garden Inn is close to Village Point shopping center which does have a few good restaurants to choose from.

I believe the La Vista Courtyard is close to Cabelas and is the newest.

I would consider also the LaVista, NE Embassy suites next door ( Opened earlier this year )to the Courtyard.

As was said, very easy I-80 access, I am sure the rooms will be in top new condition. Nice new and safe area. It is by the Cabela%26#39;s but this Cabela%26#39;s is not quite the %26#39;destination %26#39; store that some of their earlier stores were.

The Hilton Garden Inn West Omaha is in a very nice area with a lot of shopping and different places to eat but it is not as convenient to the Interstate.

Just a note if you are thinking of the courtyard - inquire if they are open on your dates yet - I was at Cabela%26#39;s last week and the Embassy Suites was open, but the Courtyard appeared to still be under construction.

Thanks. Yes, we are concerned about the Courtyard not opening in time (though they are scheduled to) so we removed them from our list. We are seriously looking at the Embassy Suites La Vista that you mentioned. It is on our list and sounds very nice. It is at the high end of the pricing scale and a little further from downtown but at least the rooms are a little larger and they include breakfast. From what I understand we will be driving to restaurants but we%26#39;ll be driving to different ball fields also. Any suggestions of what to do in our spare time for families with children from ages 13 down to 8? We will be attending a College World Series game but could use other ideas....I already know the zoo is great.

If you choose the Embassy Suites you won%26#39;t be far from the Amazing Pizza Machine it has an arcade area plus an indoor go kart track and minature golf plus a varity of dining areas one has cartoons another sports and the food is buffet type with pizza and a few other selections.

Further down I80 just across the Platte River is Mahony State Park it has a small waterpark and horseback riding etc and next to the park is the SAC Museum with several planes on display and they often have guest attractions in.

Since you will be in town during college world series there are activities set up outside the stadium that are sponsored by different companies. My son would rather spend time out there playing all the games then in watching the ball game. If you want to go to the zoo plan your day well. It is across the street from the stadium where the CWS will be playing. The zoo tries to keep parking spots available for visitors but parking maybe difficult with the game crowds. I would either go to the zoo early or at a time where there is no CWS game. The zoo is huge and will take up at least an entire day if you see everything. There are always lots of activites going on during the CWS and the city tries to make attractions easy to get to and well advertised for visitors. There are also shuttle buses that run from areas of Omaha around town.

I definately vote for the new Embassy Suites in La Vista. We recently had family in town and all had nothing but nice things to say.
