visiting Omaha with 2 year old

Will be visiting next week with a 2 year old. Plan to go to the zoo, but is the children%26#39;s museum worth the trip with such a young child? Any other ideas?

Children%26#39;s museum has stuff for all ages, all hands on, it’s not as large as some but it works!

If kids like trains, Durham Western Museum will keep their interest and has lots of open area to run %26amp; not break anything. Old fashioned Fountain serves ice cream %26amp; other treats.

The Lauretzin Gardens has exhibit geared for the kids, Kids Structure, but haven’t seen that part. Rest of it is setup so kids should enjoy the outside paths.

Children%26#39;s Museum is really fun, I can rememember it from when I was a kid. Watch out though, if you go 2 blocks west of it, it%26#39;s not such a pretty neighborhood. One street they had to close nearby because of prostitutes.

Anyway, visit the zoo for sure. There%26#39;s a reason why it%26#39;s the #1 zoo in the country. They just upgraded the monkey/gorilla exhibit, and they added a butterfly garden. If you can%26#39;t stand bad smells, avoid the cave at the bottom of the desert dome where they keep the nocturnal animals. The swamp smells horrible but it might be worth the trip through it if you want to see the albino alligator they have.
